Nickolas, the Painter.

Last weekend when Nickolas spent the night, he woke up the next day and went straight to Nana's room. I gladly sent him on and cleaned up my room. I heard him saying, "Tonya, Look." I heard his little foot steps running until he finally reached me. He showed me his hand, it was painted green!! It made me a little nervous, thanks Nana. I got a wet wash cloth and tried to get it off. It came right off! Yay for water based paint!! Nana knew what she was doing after all. Go figure. We went back to her room and Nickolas tried his hand at painting. The paint roller weighed more than he did and he had a little trouble holding it up. He managed to paint the outlet, which came right off. I snapped pictures like crazy just to be sure to capture it..I knew he was going to paint the other wall or one of us. He did pretty well, and didn't put up a fight when we took the roller away. Whew!!

10 Months Old

Alyssa turned 10 months old last week!! Where has the time gone? She is doing so much now. Just today she took her first steps!! She has been so close for so long. Today she took 4 steps to Wes, then 5 steps back to Tiffany. How exciting!!! Nickolas will say, "Come to Nickel!" Then if she falls or sits down he will say, "Oh". So cute. Not only can she clap to Patty Cake, she will now try to “roll em up”. It is super cute and I can’t believe how smart she is! Just the other day mom was talking to her, trying to get her to say Nana..and she did!! She loves to copy you. You can cough and she will cough back at you, when you laugh she can laugh back. It is pretty much the cutest thing ever. She is still waking up a few times at night. She is not afraid of anything. She is much more adventurous than her big brother was at this age. We were outside letting her swim in the kiddie pool the other day, and she just crawled right out of it! It looked so funny, but she was determined to get out and slowly but surely, she did! Not only will she open up kitchen cabinets (or any cabinet), but she will grab stuff out. (Nickolas never did this) Tiffany has their books in a cabinet at home in the living room, and Alyssa is constantly opening the cabinet and getting books out. At Nana’s she likes to open the kitchen cabinets and get dishes out. Those cabinet locks are really coming in handy these days. She still loves play time with Nickolas. He has an Elmo and Friends DVD that is interactive. The characters sing songs and really try to get the viewer involved. Miss Alyssa LOVES this movie. She will just look at the TV and smile the whole time. It is super cute. Another thing this kid likes to do is take my glasses off! She thinks it is so funny and is constantly reaching for my glasses when I am holding her. Nickolas liked this game, too and he wanted to reach for everybody’s glasses. Alyssa is doing the same thing..maybe I should not let her take them, but it is too cute!! Just be prepared if you have glasses and you ever hold Lyssa..she will try her best to get them with a big smile on her face! She is getting more teeth all the time. Tiffany has noticed her 4th, 5th and 6th tooth coming in! She already has 3 showing. Alyssa is so cute and we are lucky to have her!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Nickolas!!!

Today our little Nickolas is 2 years old!! We celebrated yesterday with a Thomas the Train party. I made a cake and decided to let Wal-Mart make Nickolas a little cake just for him to eat. Since he likes putting his fingers in cake, this was the perfect idea. After cake, he opened presents and he was so cute!! He would say, "Oh wow!" or "Oh man!" when he opened them. It was so funny. Tiffany ordered his Birthday song from Captain Zoom a few months ago. (it's a guy who sings a birthday song and includes your kids name) When Nickolas heard his name he just stared with his mouth open. It was too cute!! Later after everybody left he listened to it over and over again. After cake and presents, we let all the kids go outside to play! Our friend, Kari, came with her two kids, Daniel and Emma. They all played so well together. The boys played outside most of the afternoon loved every minute of it!! Miss Hannah Bug was still recovering from her virus, so she could not come. Me and Tiff didn't leave her out, we took her some cake and a party favor. Get well soon, Hannah!! Nickolas had a great birthday. He played so hard outside with all his new toys. They loved the water toys. Tiffany said this morning he woke up and found all his toys and got excited all over again. So cute! We had a great day!! Thanks to everyone who shared Nickolas' 2nd birthday with him.
