Nickolas loves helping me hold the mixer and dumping the sugar in the bowl to make frosting. He puts his finger over the bowl and says, "get it?" This means he wants to stick his finger in the frosting to taste it. I had to tell him no and come up with an alternative. The first time I gave him the mixer beaters he was very confused. I had to show the poor little guy how to lick the beaters. Who knew a kid didn't automatically know how to do this?!? This time when we were making frosting he happily helped with the mixing and the pouring. As soon as I turned the mixer off he pointed to the beaters and said, "I want that." Smart kid. I handed him one and he knew exactly what to do! He is a fast learner. He carried it around for a long time and when he couldn't get anymore off he asked for, "more on it, Tonya". Of course, I honored his request.
